Already this year, we've had great events for Earth Day, Spring Bear Creek Clean Up, Pine Valley Ranch CO P&W Youth Day and many classes at the Outdoor Lab. And, we have more volunteer opportunities coming up soon.
Volunteer opportunities:
CO P&W Evergreen Outdoor Skills Day. This is the inaugural youth skills day event for Evergreen. Saturday, June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Very similar to the Pine Valley Ranch event where kids have a great time shooting, fishing and learning about Colorado wildlife. We need fly tyers and casting instructors. Free lunch provided by CO P&W. Please contact me at president@evergreentrout.org or mossyshoal@aol.com to volunteer.
Camp Comfort. The first camp is Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. We need volunteers to help kids with casting instruction and having fun! Please contact me at president@evergreentrout.org or mossyshoal@aol.com to volunteer. We need about 10 more volunteers for Saturday and a few more for Sunday.
July 2nd Kids Fishing Clinic Fence Installation. If you can help with the fence installation on Monday, July 2, please send me an email. We'll be starting at 2pm and it won't take long. I was on the creek yesterday and I think we could use 3 foot stakes this year! The water is really skinny. 1,000+ trout will be stocked on July 3!
July 4th Kids Fishing Clinic. Wednesday, July 4th is the date! We'll meet a little early (~8am) to put up the tent, benches, set the rods out, etc. The event runs from 9am to 4pm and we need help with casting instruction and netting a bunch of fish! We need approximately 10 more volunteers.
Trappers Lake camping and fishing trip is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15. Contact Ron Belak (303-674-2239, ronbelak@msn.com) for details.
The second Camp Comfort weekend is set for Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29. An experience you don't want to miss. We need about 15 more volunteers for Saturday and a few more for Sunday.
